The beauty about waffles is that it gives a creative licence to have it as a savoury with eggs or the popular way which is with something sweet. I have taken the sweet route for this one but instead of plain flour I have experimented with wholemeal flour. They turned out to be superbly light and perfect to get that goodness by wholemeal fibre intake.
- 1,½ cups whole-wheat flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp cinnamon powder
- pinch of salt
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups milk
- ¼ cup butter,melted
- 1,1/2 tbsp honey
- berries, cream,honey for topping
Whisk together all the wet ingredients until fully combined.
Combine all the dry ingredients and sift through a sieve until the lumps disappear.
Once the waffle iron is ready, spray some oil & pour 2 small ladles of the batter.
