Description: For those who love pizza but are looking for a healthier alternative – no bake, no yeast, no plain flour, SEMOLINA PIZZA is a must try recipe! Yes it does taste delicious and is so easy to make with hardly any preparations in limited time. This pizza is cooked on a nonstick pan which along with semolina makes pizza base crispy and yum!
- 1.5 cups coarse semolina / suji / rava
- 1 cup plain curd/yoghurt
- 1.5 cups water
- 1 tsp Baking soda
- 1 tsp salt.
For pizza sauce:
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 tsp chilli sauce
- ½ tsp chilli flakes (Optional) .
For toppings (1 pizza):.
- 2 tsp oil
- 6 tbsp mozzarella cheese
- Any veggies/meat of your choice
- chilli flakes and oregano as per taste.
Combine semolina, salt, plain yoghurt and water in a large bowl and mix well. Rest for 15-20 minutes.
For instant pizza sauce, combine and mix tomato sauce, chilli sauce, chilli flakes and oregano in a bowl. Keep aside.
Once the semolina has absorbed moisture from the batter, mix once again and add 1⁄2 cup water to adjust the consistency as required. Add ½ tsp baking soda and mix gently. Do not over mix and cook straight away.
Grease the hot pan with some oil and pour around 2 ladlefuls of semolina batter and spread uniformly. Cover and simmer for 2 minutes, or until the batter is cooked well from the bottom. Pour some oil and carefully flip over.
Spread prepared pizza sauce or store bought ready to use pizza sauce. Top with mozzarella cheese, veggies and/or meat of your choice. Sprinkle oregano and chilli flakes as per your taste and further top with some more cheese.
Cover and simmer until pizza is cooked and cheese is completely melted. Finally, slice it and enjoy your hot Semolina pizza.
