Description:
There was not much mulling over on what would be a great winter drink. I have had mulled wines over the years during this festive season but here’s a different iteration which, for me, has produced equal if not more of a desired effect. I had a cold the last few days and I loved sipping this warm drink and my favourite spices like cinnamon & aniseed in the drink were just cherry on the top. Feel free to remove sloe gin if you prefer a nonalcoholic version.
Ingredients
- 200 ml pear juice
- 200 ml cranberry juice
- 200 ml non alcoholic pear cider (of course alcoholic cider is good too)
- 40 ml sloe gin
- 1 vanilla pod, scored lengthways
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 3-4 star aniseeds
Instructions
Combine all the ingredients into a saucepan and let it chill in the fridge for at least an hour. Either serve it cold or heat just below simmering point if you like it warm.
