Description:
Pizza is a great comfort meal and quick hunger buster but many times it’s marred with that doughiness which is not great. I have gone with the wholemeal pizza base which helps with the good fibre content and helps keep that heaviness at a lower level. Added loads of fresh basil, mozzarella, veg and voila….we have a healthier version pizza with no guilt conscience when feeding the family!!
Ingredients
- 7g yeast
- 250g wholemeal flour
- a pinch of sea salt
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 120ml lukewarm water
- tomato sauce, mozzarella & toppings of your choice
Instructions
Dust the flour over the yeast in a bowl. Add in a pinch of salt over the flour and make a well in the center of the flour. Add in the olive oil, water & combine everything well to form a ball.
Knead this dough on a lightly floured surface for another 5 minutes. Cut the dough into 2 equal pieces and roll each out to approx 1/2 cm thickness.
Transfer the bases on a lined baking tray, cover with a towel & leave to rise for an hour. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 200°C & prepare your pizza sauce and toppings.
Once the dough is ready, top your pizza with prepared tomato sauce & toppings of your choice. Bake for around 20 mins.,until fully cooked.
